Emma Thompson and Nanny Mcphee

Emma Thompson is one of our favorite actresses, screenwriters, you name it. Loved her in "Sense and Sensibility," as Elinor Dashwood, and everything before and since then, including last years "Last Chance Harvey" with Dustin Hoffman.

She is currently completing a sequel, (the first of two), to Nanny McPhee, called "Nanny McPhee & The Big Bang," for a possible March 2010 release. The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Maggie Smith, and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The screenplay was written by Thompson and "Big Bang" is being directed by Susanna White who also directed the 2006 adaptation of Jane Eyre. The storylines are based on Christianna Brand's Nurse Matilda books.

Here is the storyline:
In the latest installment, Nanny McPhee jumps forward in time and appears at the door of a harried young mother who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war. But once she's arrived, Nanny McPhee discovers that Mrs. Green's children are fighting a war of their own against two nasty, snobby cousins who have just moved in and refuse to leave. From flying motorcycles and statues that come to life to a tree-climbing piglet and a baby elephant that turns up in the oddest places, Nanny McPhee uses her magic to teach her mischievous charges five new lessons.
